In addition, Gunma Prefecture has been chosen by many companies as a backup site for corporate activities to prepare for the large earthquakes predicted to hit the Tokai region and Tokyo metropolitan area.

Gunma Prefecture is ranked high nationally for the number of hours of daylight, coming in third place.

There is also little snowfall during the winter months in the lowlands, making it a suitable location for solar energy generation facilities.

Especially in fields such as food and beverage manufacturing, various kinds of products are made from Gunma's agricultural produce by using its high-quality water.
