核兵器の廃絶と平和を願って

　群馬県議会では、平成元年3月、全会一致で「核兵器廃絶平和県宣言」を決議しました。
　県内のすべての市町村においても、同様趣旨の宣言、決議等を行っています。
　現在の国際情勢を見ると、世界の新しい秩序が作られていく過程にあって、各地域が激動しており、核兵器の廃絶と平和の実現が強く求められています。
　こうした状況の中で、今こそ、県民一人ひとりが核兵器の廃絶と世界の恒久平和の実現へ向けて、一歩一歩努力していくことが大切です。

核兵器廃絶平和県宣言

　戦争のない平和な社会の恒久的持続は、県民の切なる願いであり、人類共通の悲願である。
　核兵器の保有は、核の拡散、核戦争を誘発し、ひいては、環境の破壊、人類の滅亡につながるおそれがある。
　我々県民は、我が国の非核三原則を遵守するとともに、原子力の安全性を確認した平和利用以外のいかなる核兵器の製造、保持、使用を排し、その廃絶を強く訴えるものである。
　よって、群馬県議会は、県民の総意として、ここに核兵器廃絶平和県を宣言する。
　以上、決議する。

Declaration for Peace and the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons

Reflecting the views and the will of the people whom it represents, the Gunma Prefectural Assembly hereby makes this prefectural declaration for peace and the elimination of nuclear weapons.

An enduring peace in which there is no war is an earnest wish of the people of Gunma Prefecture, and a heartfelt desire common to all of humankind.

There is a risk that maintaining nuclear weapons will lead to nuclear proliferation and, eventually, nuclear war, causing environmental devastation and the destruction of humankind.

We, the people of Gunma Prefecture, shall abide by Japan’s three non-nuclear principals and strongly call on all nations to eliminate all nuclear weapons and refrain from their manufacture, stockpiling and use, and to work towards the peaceful use of nuclear energy once its safety has been confirmed.

This declaration has been passed by unanimous decision of the Gunma Prefectural Assembly.
